Legends In Concert opens to a packed house at Foxwoods

Legends In Concert opened to a capacity crowd inside Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Fox Theatre on Tuesday June 2nd.

Rob Caudill as Rod Stewart opened the show and set the tone with his raucous opening set which included the well-known closer, ”Maggie May”, that had an eager and willing audience singing along.

The opening night performance also included spot-on performances from Cher, Tom Jones, Whitney Houston, and Elvis Presley tributes. Cher, portrayed by Sandra Wood, was a crowd-pleaser with a guest participating on a fun-loving rendition of Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe” that had the standing-room only crowd in stitches. Next on was Steve McCoy, who like the real Tom Jones, had ladies swooning in their seats as he ripped through all of Tom Jones’ classics with unfettered passion. Whitney Houston tribute, Jazmine, took the stage next belting out all of Whitney’s greatest hits and ending off with her biggest chart-topper, “I Will Always Love You.”  In fitting Legends In Concert style, the last tribute to take front and center stage for the evening was Leo Days as Elvis Presley. Leo, a semi-finalist in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, churned out hit after hit from the King of Rock-n-Roll in grand fashion. Leo brought the crowd to their feet on several occasions during his closing set.

The evening concluded with a rousing finale’ followed by a thunderous standing ovation!  Each legend brought a unique excitement to their signature act on this maiden voyage with Foxwoods.  All of these top-notch tributes combined with dazzling  dancers, remarkable backing singers, and a  heavy-hitting, no holds barred rock band made for a classic opening night at our newest venue.
